Our Family Homestead is nestled In the center of the Sunshine State just north of Lake Okeechobee, Our Homestead sits 2 miles West of Historic Downtown Avon Park hidden just off of Highway 64. Our goal is to provide access to local Florida Grown and Homemade products garnished with a side of Old Florida Hospitality.
Secluded on just shy of 14 acres, Old Florida Homestead is a small agriculture operation that is also home to an abundance of wildlife living amongst sprawling Oaks, Cabbage Palms and Florida Pines. We work everyday toward sustainable living with the end goal to be able to provide for our family and share with our neighbors. We currently have a small flock of hens, a couple of guard cats and of course tanks stocked with fish. We look forward to expanding our fish operation this summer and are also excited to start planting our vegetable garden this spring. We have teamed up with other local farmers to provide our neighborhood with fresh agriculture products at our front porch farm stand. We have some great plans for 2022 and we hope you will be able to come along on the journey with us.
Located on the south eastern corner of the homestead is currently undergoing renovations however is a cozy early 1900s farmhouse that hosts family, friends, and short term stay farm guests. The cottage is a fully furnished one bedroom , one bath with a small kitchen and should be ready for guests in March 2022.
